Jeep Trailhawk Concept Unveiled

Chrysler has unveiled its new Jeep Trailhawk Concept which is built on the platform of the new Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep Trailhawk has the new body-on-frame design with a 116 inch wheelbase. The body-on-frame design allows the side windows to fully disappear into the body without a B-pillar. The Jeep Trailhawk gives drivers a more open air experience and great off-road capabilities. The SUV will make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show.

Not sure about the concept as it looks very much like the current Grand Cheeroke but the V6 Bluetec is yummy.

we get that diesel in the grand cherokee anyway in europe. ha!
and it's nearly 2007 and they STILL persist with body-on frame? even land rover gave that up!

Why do they need this? Do they not already have a vehicle that offers open air experience and great off road capability?

Oh yea, it used to be the Wrangler....until the let the Lego designer have a go at it (love Lego btw).

Not much of a concept if the so called concept already looks like some of it's production cars for example the Grand Cherokee. It's basically a Grand Cherokee with a T-Top and some Magnum rims. Not impressed Jeep! Get back on the design boards again!

At first when I saw the headline my thought was "Oh noes not another Compass." But now that I see what it really is, I like this thing. They should sell this rather than the crappy Compass. And maybe keep the name rather than attaching some pointless patriotic style name (Patriot, Liberty, etc.)

actually LR still uses full frame design with the Defender line.

it is the preferred design for off-highway vehicles.

Somebody at Jeep needs a swift kick in the but! They started with a capable wrangler and made a CAR OUT OF IT! Why start with two solid axles if it is going to be a car? Poor use of interior space for a large vehicle!Look at all that hood! The rear pasengers look like it would be cramped.I think a corola's interior may be bigger! The word trail only belongs on off road capable vehicles and with all that body and low profile tires.Bottom line for the off road crowd is this insults our inteligence and the car guys may like this?Great off road capability? If you believe this you are a car guy! Although I like cars too,just more of a truck guy and marketing cars as off road champs to the ignorant public infuriates me!Nice engine though.
