BMW Calls Jaguar a Scardey Cat

Probably fake, as there have been several ads with BMW supposedly acting tough.

If I were them, I'd spend more time worry about Auto Union than picking on a bruised cat.

I don't think it is fake. This ad is from Jung von Matt a German advertising agency. I am not sure about this one but I believe that in Europe it is okay to make advertisements and show the competitors products but with some limitations like you can't use their logo, trademarks ...

i seriously doubt that, the jaguar xk only has 300hp, the xkr only has 420, that car will be cost more than the xf, jaguar doesnt have the engines to compete with bmw....and not just that the concept photos for the xf show that jaguar is giving being jaguar for a design that looks like it could be "anything" with jaguar emblems....jaguar needs new styling and i would agree with that, but it also needs substance, quality, technology, and stuff ford cant seem to afford to give them. and besides the way to improve a brand with as much "heritage" good and bad as jaguar isnt to throw it all way and totally re-invent the brand into something it will never be...but hey thats just my opinion

you have to admit though that out of all the classes bmw has, the 5 series is the worst. XF will beat it on looks and style, but probably not performance because lets face it jag aint no bmw performer...but they sure are pretty.

oddly the "worst in class" 5-series was also the "best selling in class" this year. Interesting, huh? I wonder why that is with the less expensive Lexus GS, Infiniti M, and Audi A6 out there, plus the "benchmark" E-class...

3 series sedan, 5 series, 6 series, 7 series, x3 are all relly ugly to me.... excluding M cars.

There was a time when Jaguar made better cars than BMW the XK-E type and original XJ-6, I also liked the XJ-S, the difference BMW's habits of planning and investing in the future, the Britsh did not, and under ford's leadership they focused on too many retro designs, S-type is awful does not look like new car. The poor XJ sedan, suffers from that dated 1975 look, it is great car with a great interior but I would not buy it it does not look new. You have to respect BMW's courage to choose Chris Bangles designs like them or not they look fresh.

if BMW wanted to humiliate someone for fun, it would be audi hands down. too easy.

Great image! But picking on Jaguar seems like an odd choice - I don't think anyone believes they threaten BMW, so it's almost like stating the obvious. It will be a different situation in a couple of years though, especially if the new XJ is based on a Rapide. And the nose of that 5-series looks pretty ugly in the ad.

Buzz the XJ won't be based on the Rapide. Jaguar has a better aluminum structure than AM does. Now if you just mean the design then yeah they could be close.

Jaguars are such crap...my buddy had one for a year (all he could tolerate). Every person I know who has had one complains that their in the shop more than their on the road.
