RS4 Drop Top Ain't Coming Stateside

RS4 Drop Top Ain't Coming Stateside
Hear that? It's not the sound of a 420-hp German V8 pushing wind through our hair. No, it sounds a lot, ok, exactly like, us sobbing. There will be no U.S.-spec RS4 Cabrio. At least that's the rumor the Audi fanboys (and we do mean that in a good way) over at Fourtitude are reporting.

They speculate that because of unfriendly exchange rates, Audi could be keeping its hot little droptop off our shores.

I am sure Audi has its reasons. What they are?, I don't have a clue.

Maybe Audi is looking to the very near future and doesn't want to possibly dilute sales away from an A5, S5, or dare I say RS5 cabrio.

- Still sucks though. This would've been one wicked drop top warm weather ride.

EU countries always seem to get the best toys :~(

money.
the US dollar is very weak, so it is hard to make money. audi would have to "overprice" (for americans) for it to make a return. i don't think many americans understand just how cheap stuff is there. for example a chrylser 300C SRT-8 in the US costs the same as a 300C 3.5 V6 in the UK.

Because it will not sell, that is why audi does not export this to the US.

This is REALLY old news...

But it still saddens me, more than anyone else here!

Sad, I was deciding between rs4 convertible and M6 series convertible, If Audi does not export rs4 because of the exchange rate it can be understood. I have been going abroad since since the 90s, the US dollar has been holding steady or slightly declining against other currencies. Ever since G.W.Bush came in to power, the US dollar has been steadily declining against other currencies, one of the many reasons I shouldn't have voted for G.W.Bush, I hope Rudy Giuliani gets the platform for republican!!
