Report: 5 Door GTI Coming to US
Volkswagen has told a US publication that starting with the 2007 model, Volkswagen will be offering the US a five-door GTI model. Due to the success of the current three-door GTI, Volkswagen sees the five-door GTI doing just as well, if not better. The five-door Volkswagen GTI adds an additional 60 pounds and will cost $500 more than the three-door. Check out more images below.

This isn't exactly breaking news, they are already at dealerships, I have seen several on the streets already. It has even been on VW's US site for several months and their site notoriously slow on updates.

With that being said, I am excited about the 5 door GTI. It is hard to justify putting a one piece seat in a two door car with backseats, but you don't have to worry about the seats tilting forward when you have rear doors. VW enthusiasts have been wanting VW to bring over a 4 door GTI since the MK2, I am glad they are finally listneing.

Yep, already on sale as the 2007 GTIs went on sale couple a while ago. But now the GTI is the Automobile of the year.
