Top Gear: Clarkson Reviews the Rolls Royce Phantom

Here is Jeremy Clarkson’s review of the Rolls Royce Phantom. He talks about the simplicity of the car and the hidden toys inside. Of course, then he has fun with the 6.7 liter V12 engine that does 0-60 mph in 5.7 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph. Unfortunately the Rolls Royce Phantom isn’t fun on the track.

LOL the people who buy one of these care less about being seen in one. They care about transporting themselves in luxury not what and how people think when they get stares. Just my two cents.

You must see a Roller in the flesh to fully appreciate it. With SUV proportions and a face that reminds one of a truck, it is certainly not a tasteful expression of affluence.

The front of the car looks great. The problems begin when you approach the rear of the car, and everything just falls apart.

This is what luxury is about. Very nice saloon. A car of this size will not handle like a sports cars. So I don't know why some people expect it to handle good. This car is not meant to be driven fast, but it is to transport its occupants in unparalleled luxury.

The Rolls is intended to represent the closest man could get to the ultimate in motoring luxury.And it handles good enough too.Its makers aimed it to be the best car in the world too.

The rear is definately the weakest point, but the side is not that good either and the head lights are too smalle. The Bentley Continental Flying Spur look much better. The interior also doesn't look that great. But it is very quite and powerful, and probably nice inside but I would take the Bentley Flying Spur over this.

Sure you can go get a Bentley but with this Phantom it's all about having an exclusive automobile. There are more Bentley's on the road than RR's in my city. The level of luxury is top-notch. Just because a car does not have many fancy high tech buttons doesn't mean it loses points in functionality.

Just about the only part I don't like about it are the doors. Ugly doors.
