A BMW in Under 60 Seconds

We all can agree security is a number one concern for any major purchase. But this just shows how easy thwarting an advanced security measure such as laser cut keys can be.

For those who own or know someone with a BMW, this video is a must-watch. It basically demonstrates how a thief could easily “decode” your lock. What are your thoughts?

I got a 2004 316, it that key look different not the steel thing but the top thing made of plastic.

exactly right. BMW charges an arm and a leg for a new key not only because the keys are lasercut, but because they have to be programmed to engine code etc. Opening the door is one thing, but sparking the ignition is another.

all BMW ppl looks at their key and be proud of the laser cut keys huh.
while BMW cheap out on the actual lock mechanism ...
16 keys can open all BMW is bad , it is faster than 'a piece of steel wire' coz u know it takes no skill only 16 key's time

is like u can choose ur autospies password from 16 number , but it is gonna be show by 3D graphics.

guess u dun have problem with tht huh, maybe there's a finger print scanner if u want to write a message , so u dun can if ppl can get in and out with 16 guesses
