It's New Year's Eve, the night high hopes and hangovers collide. As the world's automakers stagger out to greet 2007 on Monday, here's my list of resolutions they might consider.

If they're not all broken by Valentine's Day, the car companies will be doing better than I am.

Sorry but GM has certainly done a poor job of platform engineering and brand managing. I think VW has done a better job at that.

yes, the Chevy Trailbalzer was particulary bad example. Start with an ok vehicle, and then send it to everybody else at gm, including saab of all brands, whose brand calls for a car exactly the opposite of a trailbalzer.

Those look pretty good. Not bad at all. On VW's side do better manage your brands - don't take too much from GM at this point.
