Audi R8 Dealers Requirements To Sell R8 / $100k

This is not new news but this is official as of today. This means most Audi dealers will probably not be an R8 dealer.

100k requires you to sell 10 cars at 10k to break even.

We should be one of the dealers spending the $$$

I can guess the local dealers around here will definately pay up.

what you will avoid is the small dealer with the one car that needs to sell it at $1,000 over invoice to not go out of business. This should keep the car hot. Expect some markups.

Do they have anything in Sweden that's close by?

I was just saying that because I have a relative who works in Copenhagen, and I knew Sweden is close, and might offer more choices.

this is a Audi USA plan

It looks like Audi has a very good plan to sell the R8.

Chewy, Why is this a good plan?

chewychewy - 1/2/2007 4:26:20 PM

Because it looks like Audi will properly present this 100,000+ vehicle to its customers.

I agree it is a good play for the manufacture and brand. It is tuff on the smaller dealers though.

No, Audi says that a dealer need to contribute 100,000 to be able to sell Audi R8s, the Audi R8 however will most likely cost about 100,000+ but it is certainly worth that. And it looks like Audi will put resources in properly selling the R8.

The Audi R8 is a nice car but for what it costs it should do a lot more.

Well, it has been compared to the Ferrari F430 and Lamborghini Gallardo. It will cost as much as a Porsche 911 C4s and I am sure the R8 will have superior performance.

Take a look. It is a true exotic with a luxury interior.

most vw/audi dealerships have problems selling a3 and a8 ( only 322 sold in Nov. 06) how are they going to sell R8.

chewychewy - 1/3/2007 2:13:20 AM

Well, considering that it has already sold out for the year, I am sure they won't have any problems.

Larry- instead of responding to your rants about Audi I will agree with you that there are a lot of bad Audi dealers.

If Audi wanted to sell more A8s and A3s they would but they sell as many as Audi projected to sell.

LArry- you can't buy an R8 because they are sold out for over a year so I am not worried. I am looking forward to a healthy markup

The R8 already seems forgotten among the exotics.

I think that we are missing the point. There could be as few as 2 dozen dealers that can pony up the cash

The RS6 required a bid investment though and there were plenty of dealers that spent the cash

I'm thinking a good bit of this if for tools.
