Are These The Top 10 Movers and Shakers in the Auto Industry?
Motor Trend magazine has deemed Toyota chief Fujio Cho the automotive industry's most influential player according to its 2007 Power Brokers list, released to newsstands today.

Cho, chairman of Toyota Motors Corp., was ranked No. 1 among those who exert the most "influence and impact on the automotive landscape," the magazine announced.

Coming in second was Rick Wagoner, chairman of General Motors Corp., while Ford CEO Alan Mullaly ranked 17th on the third annual Power Brokers roster. The ranking is determined by Motor Trend editors; a complete list is available in its February 2007 issue.

I'll be sure to check it out when I get my issue. Wow, the CEO of the third largest car company ranked 17? Well, he hasn't been there too long, so I guess he needs time. Cho deserves to be #1. He's changed the auto world upside down in the last 10 years. Congrats.

Oh, and speaking of the MT Feb 07 edition, did anybody see that the Camry placed next to last, only better than the Sebring, in a C&D Feb 07 comparo? I can't believe there's no article on it.

Ford? You mean 3rd largest TRUCK company.
When it comes to number of CARS, Toyota is #1, VW is #2, and GM is #3.
Ford is down the list, and Daimler-Chrysler doesn't even come close to making the top 10.

Ghosn at #9 only? In my mind the Nissan turnaround was nothing short of genius!

Cho is now head of a beast that is getting out of control (welcome to the american market). Lets hope he gets the recalls and poor launches under control. Poor Toyota design we can live with, poor quality we can't.

Why isn't anyone from AUDI on this list?

With all this talk of the R8, RS4, the superb Audi interiors, their product assault, etc, one would think that they would be increasing in influence.

Funny how a designer at BMW ranks ahead of anyone at Audi.

NEVER FOLLLOW.
