Comparison: Audi R8 vs. Lamborghini Gallardo (Excellent Photo Gallery)

Autozeitung compares the Audi R8 against the Lamborghini Gallardo. The two cars are related mechanically but are quite different. The Audi R8 was designed to be a daily-driver supercar with all weather drivability as well. That shows, even thought the R8 is only several inches larger than the Gallardo on the outside, inside the R8 is much roomier and more comfortable. General factory data is provided but without any instrumented tests. The main treat is the excellent photo gallery (26 in total) with high quality detail shots of both cars individually and side by side. I love the look of the Lamborghini Gallardo, but I could but an Audi S8 and an R8 for the same amount of money.

Man, I love the R8, seriously, I have grown so addicted to it, it is truly the ultimate car..For sure my next car..The Lambo is amazing too..

I'd take it over the Lambo any day. It's not as flashy, and I like that.

Mmmmmm.

The R8 is definitely a class act, from its perfectly-judged exterior to the premium quality look of the interior. I mean, just ogle at those beautiful carbon-fibre door grab-handles....

However, the Italian 'sister' has a sense of occasion and drama which the R8 cannot match, but this is a good thing.

The R8 is a technological tour-de-force, offering a razor sharp driving experience with amazing build quality, whereas the Lambo appeals to the customer who wants a sizzling driving experience, aesthetic drama and Italian class.

Both excel exceptionally well.

i think i'd perfer to see the R8 in Black. i don't like how all the vents and other black treatments look in contrast to the silver of this car. black would defintaly look more menacing! the R8 also has a nicer interior by a thin margin. ...even though they are both clearly Audi interiors.

...but if i had the money, i'd choose th Lambo. 90% of the people in the world would have no idea what an Audi R8 is and would think it's some kind of sedan if you told them that's what you had. on the other hand, EVERYONE knows what a Lamborghini is...and it's subsequent reputation.

I don't actually see the point in the comparison of the R8 and Gallardo. They are both wonderful machines and high tech to the limit but since the R8 has got a Gallardo engine... do they really need to be compared??
Well the Gallardo has got a higher top speed but at acceleration i believe the R8 has got to be the winner... anyway all i am saying is they are the same machines, from one perspective that is.
