Official: Audi A5 to Be Unveiled in Geneva

Germancarblog (via Autocar) reports that the Audi A5 will be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show. The A5 will be the first Audi to ride on the new MLP (Modular Platform for longitudinal engines) that will be the basis for the next A4, A6, A8 and other vehicles.

Yep, the 7 speed S-Tronic (DSG) should be available on the A5.

This is one serious car. Any news on the RS5? A head-to-head when the m3 also comes out (with the RS5) will be a comparison I'll be waiting for.

Will the A5 roll out with the same engines as the A6 (3.2 $ 4.2)? Following that same logic, shouldn't a V10 S5 bow very soon after the regular A5 intro?

Most likely, but there could be some pleasent surprises. A V10 if it would go into the A5 would be for the RS5 and some time after the A5 release. But nothing is concrete yet.

Can't wait to see the A5 'in the flesh' :-)
Looks like it will cause quite a stir in the marketplace .... apparently there are already advanced prototypes of S5 & RS5 under secret testing. HOLY MOLY, AUDI have returned to the coupe segment with an explosion rather than a bang!!!!

I wish I had X-Ray eye so I could realisticly comment on the looks! Those people who say its the best looking Audi ever.. How the hell can you tell? You cant see anything of the real car! My guess is that you're SO in love with Audi you'll like it no metter what it looks like!(sheep)
