not to throw more to the fire but actually no the es isnt the only car based on toyota platform, for one the gs, is, es, and rx all share engines with the camry. the camry, highlander, es, avalon, and rx all share the same platform and for the most part the same engines. do i see a problem with it no not really, but the point if you are going to bash one car for platform sharing bash them all.....thats the difference between a car enthusiast, and a person obsessed with a car manufacturer, they see the good in different cars, lexus is not the end all car not even close

"Was your family killed by a Toyota?"

Actually, almost.
One of my friends, who is paralysed, purchased a new Sienna with hand controls. A long story short, the controls were disabed by a glitch, and the full van headed down a dirt hill towards a lake, where it hit a tree at 30 mph. They sued Toyota, and now have a Buick Terraza handicapped van (bought by toyota), which happens to be better than then thier sienna.

The Clio stands out in a world of too often -bland or neutered - characterless cars. Too bad it's not available in America.

Thank you....exactly what I was thinking.
Wilco: I love the A3, absolutely love it, but this Clio (Which is the Renault RS V6 EV0 2) is stunning...

Say all you want about that car, but it is...HOT!
Take out the back seat and stuff it with a 255 hp V6 and put RWD..can't beat that combo.
Just like the Renault Turbo 5 in the early to mid 80s. This car was a monster. This is a tricky car though and you better be alert all the time.

Too bad there are no plans to make one on the new Clio...Just think of it...this car with the Nissan V6...Yummy!

People, learn to love the RenaultSport Clio V6 255.

Those who dismiss it and have the nerve to call the S3 'hotter' (sorry S4cab) fail to understand the little Renault, or indeed didn't pay attention.

the Clio V6 is not an ordinary hot hatch like a Golf GTi or S3. It is actually a bespoke, hand-built car that is far removed from its basic Clio origins.

In fact, if you saw one in real life like I have (have sat in one also) you would be taken aback by its sheer width. It is almost wider than it is long. It also has a V6 engine nestled between the rear wheels! How many hatches can boast that?

The Clio V6 is an amazing car to drive, and EVO magazine managed to secure one as a long-termer a year or so back. They said it was just an amazing car, stirring the soul and involving the driver so completely on every journey. They even managed to say -are you listening S4Cab- it was like a scaled-down Porsche 911 in every aspect from its exhaust note to its handling balance.

The S3 is a grown-up hatch, brilliant, but not a patch on this hooligan-special from Renault.

Trust me, this car is amazing.

I'd take one in black.

Looks fun as hell to drive!

Where's the fun in that? The world doesn't need another me-too sports car, what the world was crying out for was a pocket rocket to replace the iconic Renault 5 Turbo!

Renault supplied, and enthuisasts and car-buffs alike rejoiced!

The thing with Will is this:

If it isn't a four-door saloon with typical styling and a familiar profile, chances are it's ugly.

Ugly is the Aztek, the RenaultSport Clio V6 225 is not ugly by any stretch of the imagination.

"I think the A8 is nice, but when you pin it against the LS, you know which one I'm going to support..."

I know, I know, you like the Lexus, but may I ask why?

The A8's interior is STILL far better, from both a design and material standpoint; it drives better, it has AWD, it has a standard air suspension and adaptive suspension, it looks better in its fourth year, it seems to have more legroom than the LS460L (A8L), and, when you top them out with nearly-identical options, it costs about $10,000 less. You can even get an $11,000 customized interior with reddish-brown seats and black piping and an Alcantara headliner. You can also fully customize your interior through quattro GmbH, getting whatever type of wood you want, different colored piping (and the placement of the piping), the color and placement of the Alcantara suede trim, special lighting packages, and a fourteen-speaker, 1000 watt B & O stereo system.

As for the eight-speed transmission and the redundant self-park feature, the A8 has an aluminum spaceframe and AWD, which are a lot more meaningful in everyday use.

MDalle drives a BMW M6. Will drives a Lexus LS430.

BMW M6 - Lexus LS430

Sophisticated coupe with explosive performance - wafting barge which, luckily, has been superceeded with something a little better.

Now I don't know about you, but the LS430 doesn't strike me as a car someone who liked cars would buy. Someone who liked cars wouldn't care about its lower price or soft suspension.

Someone who liked cars would buy an S-Class.

Ditto the M6.

will, you are very suburban.
you practically define it. RX for the wife, big saloon for the husband, 300C for everyone. we can guess that it's not the hemi.
2.4 children (6-10 years old?), dog/cat, big garden, traditional styled house? also, your choices seem quite nouveau-riche. were you born upper middle class? i don't think you were, and now you demonstrate your new-found wealth with 3 flashy cars. an LS, a very american-styled car, and one that attracts attention (as do all cars in that class) an RX, again, quite showy, desirable, and a 300C, to try and remind yourself that you're not boring. keeping up with the Joneses? I think Will is Mr Jones...but he doesn't know it, and is possibly jealous of his neighbour, who has a porsche (probably).
i could of course be wrong and you live in a 2 bedroom open plan minimalist flat, but i don't think so.

Nothing wrong with black cars. All mine are black. I also think BMW is one of the few that can do a red leater interior well.

Mdalle, you come off as an ass quite often, but your car is nice!
