DETROIT AUTO SHOW: Pontiac announces GXP versions of the G6 and Torrent SUV
Pontiac will be launching two new performance versions of its G6 sedan and Torrent SUV. Now in GXP guise, the G6 GXP will come in both sedan and coupe versions and will be powered by a new 3.6L V6 engine developing 252hp. The Torrent GXP will run an even more powerful version of the same engine, this time with 263hp. Coming in both AWD and FWD configurations, the performance SUV will reach 60mph from rest in under 7 seconds.

Really, really ugly.

And it's a little sad that Pontiac's "high-performance" engine is less powerful than an average V6 from Audi or BMW.

The front-drive design bias does nothing for the balance of the car's profile. The lunch table/rear wing on the back doesn't help, either.

Pontiac needs a RWD car this size and call it the Firebird or Tempest or something. Anything.

I think it looks real nice, but it would do better with a little more HP.
