DETROIT AUTO SHOW: Ford Debuts TwinForce TT-V6

Touted as a means to give V8-like horsepower with V6 fuel economy, the TwinForce V6 at this year's Detroit Auto Show stands as one of Ford's biggest announcements so far. Started with the Duratec 35 as a foundation, the engine's combination of turbocharging and direct injection yields a claimed 415 HP and 400 ft-lb of torque - more than enough to smoke any naturally-aspirated V8 currently offered by the Blue Oval here in the United States.

The MazdaSpeed has a simular layout I believe, but anyway this is stunning news none the less. For those that never felt comfortable having a V8, this makes sense. Ford should totally run with this engine and continue to push it upwards like Porsche has done with their flat 6's.

how 'bout V6 power with I4 economy. i mean really... is 415hp really nessesary? torque steer, tickets, tires... whats the point? nice CONCEPT however, just needs to be scaled down
