Love-Hate: TTAC Drives the BMW M6
I’ve had a thing for the BMW 6-Series ever since “Spenser: for Hire” shared the airways with Mötley Crüe. While Robert Urich had a cool Mustang, Avery Brooks had a vehicle worthy of his icy-cold demeanor: a white BMW 635CSi. Could there ever be a better vehicle in which a man could do the right thing by any means necessary? There is now. The BMW M6 has tons of M-tuned street cred and many of the right moves. Many, but not all.

The M6’ silhouette screams greatness without saying a word. The generous space between the front wheels and firewall, its swoopy lines and perfect proportions make for a killer profile. The model's lowered stance and wikkid 19” rims add animus aplenty. Unfortunately, viewed from any other angle, Bimmer's streetwise badass looks like a short-bus dumbass. Bangled lumps and bumps and disjointed details do nothing to help the model's G-force gravitas, and much to remove it.

Nothing new here….iDrive is the devil…SMG is for masochists. Take those two away and you have the perfect luxo-sport coupe.

I saw a black M6 in the parking lot a few days ago and it just floored me. The hood and front skirt made it look like it was just lying in wait to attack.

I can't get past its staid styling. From the "happy fish" face, to the non-descript profile, to the generic tail, the car just looks unexciting. Downright boring, some might say. So lets dress it up with some fender flares, 19 inch wheel, and skirts, and we have, well, an uninspiring looking car trying to look mean.

Sure, the M has ample power, but it has the ample weight to lug around as well. Add in iDrive, BMW's "The Ride Is Rubbish" SMG, their I-Look-Cheap-But-Use-Exotic-Materials interior, and you have a vehicle that has very limited appeal.

Recall that the Z8's classic lines created an industry-wide stir of excitement. Not so for BMW's current offerings.

go test drive 1, n go to a showroom and look at it without commenting on pictures. The interior is top quality and materials are the best they can get. idrive is as simple as sleeping, but ppl who dont know how to use a pc r excused. It looks soo agressive 2 and its ment to b a GT cruiser, not a sports car.
