Porsche CEO hints at dumping Lamborghini and Bugatti

Well it looks like the day is not too far away before VW will dump Bugatti and Lamborghini. He has said "no more toys".

"Despite recent rumours about new Lamborghini and Bugatti models, both companies may not remain under the wing of the VW group for long enough to bring these models to market. We’ve previously reported that Porsche was considering buying the Audi group but it seems this plan has been changed. Now, Porsche will manoeuvre to have more of a say on the VW board, with Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking campaigning to get a third seat out of twenty."

Looks like someone hasn't read the full interview. Firstly, Wiedeking has stated he wants to partner with VW, not control it, and secondly the toys quote refers to cars like the VW Phaeton, not to Bentley and Lamborghini. The article stated the following:

"That doesn't mean Bugatti, Lamborghini and the other supercar brands acquired by former CEO Ferdinand Piëch are headed for the scrap heap. Bentley is profitable, so is Lamborghini now. "If it's already written off, it makes no sense to kill it," Wiedeking said"

True, Lamborghini is selling more cars than before, why would they want to get rid of the brand, it doesn't make sense.
