Check the whiskers on the front end of a Mercedes SLR.

That is the catfish mobile!

I can't get over the seriously ugly IS-F... but I guess I do like the LF-A more than the Interceptor. That's my new #5.

Here's a very attractive photoshop of the LF-A that actually looks credible.

I didn’t go, so my only experience is with photos and Internet postings. Nonetheless...

Best:

Lexus LF-A: This one is interesting because Lexus needs to get this right, and they know it. The IS-F is really dipping their foot in the waters compared to this segment. It’s encroaching on the territory of the most legendary sports cars in the world; and the image benefit from executing this correctly is more important than profits from sales of the car.

Cadillac CTS: The first step on the road to recovery for GM. It’s surprisingly impressive, it looks good; and if it’s a success it will bless the entire GM brand with a public perception improvement, not just Cadillac.

Chrysler Nassau: They may very-well have the next hot segment with this thinking in design. It’s the cross-over, cross-over. A sport, wagon, utility… thingy. This particular design manages to use Chrysler design cues the meld together gracefully, unlike the collage of Chrysler clichés the Sebring ended up being.

Worst:

FT-HS: Sorry. It’s not that the concept is bad as much as it is a disappointment. I’d really like to at least see a design direction for the Supra we all know (in a kind of iPhone sort of way) Toyota is planning. From the inside out, this is far too radical to be a production car; and adding a paper launch of dreamy 0-60 speculations with a hybrid platform to such a space-age experiment was almost insulting.

Caravan: Ok, so I’m not really the market for this thing; but it could be any more industrial and rigid? I hope they don’t intend for consumers to buy this. This is a work van.

Ford Airstream: "Futurism" inspired by "2001: A Space Odyssey," huh? Ok, very funny guys. Any real cars to show? I think your stuck-on-retro designers have contributed enough to the demise of the company. It’s time to move on.

In no order at this time: Mitsubishi Evo X, Lexus LF-A, Toyota FT-HS, Jaguar C-XF, Inteceptor, Audi V12 TDI Q7, Acura Advanced Sports Concept, Honda Accord Coupe Concept.

Worst: Ford 500, Ford Focus (Euro version looks better), Nissan Bevel, Smart ForTwo.

Long lists, but that is the way I see it.

I had the opportunity to go to the Auto show on Wednesday and found GM to have the best in show production models with the new Malibu, CTS. I found that Ford's refreshed Focus, 500 and Escape trio to be somewhat disappointing although they are all better in person than in photos, the new styling on the Focus is pretty busy but it might actually improve sales for a little while and is a definite improvement. The MKR, Interceptor and Mazda Nagara I felt were the most interesting and attractive concepts at the show. The Accord was pretty nice but not very interesting. The two toyota sports car concepts were also pretty cool but it is hard to get excited about non producton models. Nissan, Subaru, Chrysler/Dodge all had mediocre displays with not much to hold my attention. I know I am leaving alot out, but overall GM and Ford have a good show, followed by Toyota.

The Best:

1) Toyota FT-HS.A real affordable supercar in the history of 4 wheelers.

2) Lexus LF-AF.Best of the Best.A jewel.A masterpiece.

3) Lexus IS-F.A perfect package. The benchmark of everyday supercar.

4) BMW 3 Coupe-cabrio.My coupe-cabrio of the year.A real beauty from BMW after years.

5) Audi Q7 V12.I only liked the design, which is an improvment over the regular Q7.Looks more sporty and expensive.BTW i don't support the idea of a V12 SUV.
And that too diesel.....no no no.

The worst:

1) Nearly all ALL-NEW GM and Ford offerings.
Excluding Caddy CTS and Chevy volt.

2) Nissan Bevel concept.

3) MB ocean drive concept.
