The Spies Give You The Inside Look at the New Cayenne

The new Cayenne not only looks more powerful, it is more powerful. With as much as 500 horsepower and with new dynamic technologies the new 2008 Cayenne performs more like a 5 passenger sports car.

Direct fuel injection is only one of the new technologies on this second generation SUV. Optional Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control with active anti-roll bars that almost completely offset body roll in turns, improving handling, and comfort.

Also new is Dynamic Curve that improves the driver’s view while driving on winding roads at night. For the first time, the Cayennes come with a rollover sensor able to trigger both the belt latch tensioners and curtain airbags in an emergency.

so... it's exactly the same inside and has a different front end?

A Pointless Porsche. Period.

No only too enthusisasts, this car is actually the smartest way for them to make money, because their are thousands and thousands of men who dreamed of a porsche and wound up with a wife and two kids, and a dog. Porsche know's that they are an icon and are cashing in on their long established heratige. Do I like the car, no, especially the interior. Is it smart money, Absolutely.

As long as there is a market for SUV's it's not pointless. While not what I would call pretty(with the exception of Landrover/Sport,there are no pretty SUV's),it certainly has a nicer looking front end then version one. The whole point of the Cayenne is it's keeping you with the Porsche brand and it allows them to keep making fabulous sports cars.

Still ugly! Why can't these guys get the looks down? The Panamera is even uglier. They need to respect tradition but break away from it a little more.

I'm sure many cayenne customers have money burning a hole in their pockets and want the fastest SUV, not real enthusiasts.

still rather have a touareg. still ugly as sin, and IMO the vw has a better interior.

It does- the VW's interior is hugely better.

Actually, I'd take a Q7 over both. More fun than a Touareg (and way better-looking), and much more attractive/more luxurious than Cayenne.

The new front looks much better. I have seen a few of these run at the local autocross course and they were pretty impressive to watch. A good driver in one of these could smoke a bad driver an just about anything.

Yeah the interior still looks cheap & I liked the old front end better.

I'm starting to slowly understand why so many people found this truck ugly from the get-go...because I use to love it.

I don't often agree with what Mr. Clarkson says but he has a point when he states that "Porsche must have some of the laziest designers in the world"
