2007 Toyota Tundra First Drive - Dubspeed Driven

Toyota waded into the full-size truck market in 1993 with the T-100 pickup, a half-hearted effort at a large truck that was so far out of step with what consumers wanted that it even offered a four-cylinder option. The T-100 was supplanted by the first-generation Tundra in 2000, a velvet fist in an iron glove that was vastly improved over its predecessor in every way, and even offered an optional V8, but still retained the original’s unflagging, go-for-the-bronze streak. When it came time to introduce a new Tundra, Toyota knew that they had used all their mulligans. The redesigned Tundra had to, through sheer brawn, scare the socks off of General Motors, make Ford reach for the Excedrin, and deliver on the promises of convenience and durability made to prospective buyers who were willing to put their money where Toyota’s mouth was.

the quad cab is beautiful. im not a fan of the pod style guages and the nav seems a bit far to the right. all in all it looks really nice. the seats look good in the pics too.

It wouldn't break down if you towed your boat. Well, it really depends on the size of your boat. This will tow over 10,000 pounds. If you have a bigger boat than that, there are only like three trucks that can go that big, excluding semi-trucks.

Look how much leg room that thing has! The front seats are all the way back and there's still a ton. That's it. I'm saving up my money for one of these.

I finally saw a guy that you could tell he works in construction driving a Nissan Titan and he looked like a goofball in it.

These trucks are designed for street driving and not for work.

Notice how the hood lines keep rising on each new edition of pickup truck. Ford and Dodge started it; now GM and Toyota have gotten into the act.

Why anyone would want a pickup designed so that you can't see the road out in front of you? This is beyond my understanding.

I hate this trend.

I'm for the Dodge Sprinter Van Cab-Chassis; put on your own body; you can see the road just two feet from the windshield and you can do a 360 on a dime. The Sprinter would set you back around $35K after installing a body though. Ouch!
