Seriously 5 liters and only 420hp 350lb-ft , 7,000 redline come on. At least give it a deep growl or a F1 banshi howl at 8,000-8,500 redline. This is as bad or worst then Audi using a 5.2L V10 with 435hp and 398lb-ft in the S6. Just sad. BMW, Merc and Audi (RS4) when again.

Well, considering the same V10 that's in the S6 is used in the Lamborghini Gallardo with over 500hp (in 5.0L form), they de-tuned it on purpose. The RS6 will have a twin-turbo (or even N/A) V10 with more power.

I'm not entirely convinced its sounds like a coffee grinder..its more like a cross between a high powered Kitchen-Aid blender and a John Deere Lawnmower.. However, you can modify the mufflers on any car to improve the sound so I'm not too worried..hope they do modify it. This is supposed to be a sports car not the usual ES/LS octogenarian-mobiles.. Here's what a real sports car sounds like..enjoy!!!

Will, here's a Lexus fan who can admit when Lexus screws up. He's on edmunds.com/insideline's forums, and his name is "lexusguy".

A quote:

"I think the IS-F looks awful, like they sent it to DUB magazine and said "go nuts guys, we really want this to be in Fast and Furious 3". The cartoonish body kit makes it seem like they are trying to pull buyers away EVOs and STis, rather than M3s. All it needs is a big wing on the back and a roof scoop, and they'll be gold. I honestly can't see anyone shopping for an M3 or C63 even considering the IS-F. Park that in the executive lot and you'll be laughed at."

I agree.

I don't think you should make any assumptions of a car's appearance until you've seen it in person. For example, the Mercedes S-Class looks to overdone in photos, but when I saw one in real life, it was awesome. Photos can really make a car seem like too much when in reality it looks great.

Okay, at least you admit you love the S550, which Will won't.

But the thing is, I really do like how the IS350 looks. Very classy design. But I think they just don't know how to make bodykits.

And after the Lexus IS-F spanked your Audi RS4, Audi will probably come out with a more powerful version of the RS4 to play catch up with the Lexus IS-F. Lexus proof that they spanked the German in this segement before and they do it again.

It doesn't sound all that bad. It does sound powerful you guys have to give it that. It is distinctively a V8. However it's no where close to being an RS4, that engine just has crazy grunt. The IS-F came short in the grunt department but it doesn't necessarily mean it'll come short in performance.

Wait till it's out then judge the final product. Sound doesn't follow function, form does.

You know if you want to properly record the engine then I would suggest using a good microphone like a CAD or a Neumann which can cost up to $10 thousand dollars.

Those cheap microphones in digital cameras are worth about $50 dollars and it doesn't take much sound to make them distort giving you crap quality.

The new Camry Se look even more lively and sportier than that Bloated new C-class for sure. The new C-class is probably the most boring car in it class. I check out at another website on this new C-class for the new C350, it only has 272 hp. So how is this even has a chance competing against the IS350, Acura TL, G35, and the BMW 335i? no chance at for sure.

Lexus IS-F is going to take over this segement really soon. Yeah your German fanboys probably shit your pants right now just from hearing that IS-F concept rev... LOL :)
