Photoshop: 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe & Estate
Mercedes-Benz officially launched the new 2008 Mercedes C-Class sedan late last week and now you’re all probably wondering what the coupe and estate model will look like. Well the folks over at CWW Car Design have made a couple of Photoshops of what the models may look like. So far Mercedes-Benz has no plans of making a coupe version of the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class, but seeing this Photoshop, we think they should seriously consider one in order to compete with the new BMW 3-Series coupe. Nonetheless, the 2008 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate variant will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Nice car, but in what respect is this car going to be better than BMW?

Will it be better than a BMW, I don't know, but the C-Class appeals to people with Class - like real estate agents such as I am in Orange County, Calif.

MB #1 with agents.

In the North Shore, C-Classes are passé. Only the poor drive them. Average schmoes drive E and S-Classes, but if you're among the slightly wealthier, you drive a Continental Flying Spur.

The coupe looks good, but in my humble opinion I think you need to lower the roof line and make it little sleeker. Responding to BMWRocks, I think if MB decides to produce a coupe, the Benz has the potential to look better than the 3 series coupe. Not talking performance here, just in the looks department. No comment on the station wagon. Not into wagons really.

They will not make this car after the failure they had with the w-203 C-class Coupe. Also, i dont think they would want to give away their coupe market to their CLK coupes.

So this would be a new CLK-Class?

BMWRocks,

"Ultimate Luxury Machine" vs. "Ultimate Driving Machine". Apples and oranges, which the exeption of M and AMG line ups.

OK, someone say Lexus has them both beat at their own games and in five years Toyota will rule the solar system.

It's still dull looking. The design may wear well over time, but it really is dull.

I don't understand what's so ugly about this car, Will. Sure, it's bland, but does that make it ugly?

The LS's design is definitely bland, but it's not at all ugly. C-Class is the same way.

Don't worry- I don't like it. I'd rather have an IS350, especially if it came with AWD.

****************

I'm glad you put "Photoshop:" at the beginning of this article, omarrana. I hate it when posters act like photoshops are the real thing.

I was simply giving you the LS as an example. Did I say it seethingly, like it was a "POS TOYOTA", like many German car fans do?

No. I'm not like that. It's ridiculous.

I guess after seeing the extravagant S, CL and CLS designs, the C doesn't seem so out-there to me anymore.

Will, the C-Class is more like a surfboard than a rollerskate.

The LS460 is like a garbagetruck.

Gogo, what is wrong with you?

"Have a look at the Lexus IS. This car is a styling disaster. I'm surprised something as hideously ugly as it sells like hotcakes in the US."

Even I know the IS is far more appealing than the new C. It just is! Give me one reason to buy a C350 over an IS350.

And, although this contradicts my point, the IS isn't exactly "selling like hotcakes". It should, but the A4, 3 and G have a significant lead.

And the 9-3? LOL! Exciting? The convertible, maybe, but the sedan's design is very ordinary.

Gogo, you need stop what you Smoking or Inhaling bro! the IS350 is probably best looking car in it class. The only reason why alot people does not prefer it because it does not offer stick shift version of it.

You want to know the "Truth" Gogo? the new C-class is just plain and boring.

I decided to finally get a nametag here. It's really funny to watch all the mortars fly in here. Anyways, the new C-class looks like it will have some promise, but personally, I'll wait until I can see it in person to make a decision.
I'm also a big Toyota fan, but I can't take the idea of a Lexus being a luxury car seriously. It's still a Toyota, with $10K added onto the sticker price. Now, Toyota as an excellent, quality, reliable car? Absolutely. But not as a luxury car. I'll leave that to Germany.

As for the whole real estate/OC bit, that's really a myth. I'm in the loan business myself, which I find much easier and more lucrative than real estate, but they'll drive what they like to drive. I drive a '99 E 55 because I personally love the car. I also make it a point to use it for what it was intended, and I take it to track days, take it to the mountains. A lot of people who buy luxury cars, especially performance models, even SUVs, don't use the car for what it was intended, or because they appreciate it. Only as a status symbol, which is really lame, in my opinion.

and you realise you toyota lexus thing has caused all the lexus fans to hate you and they will now call you bmw fanboy all the time.

The nice thing about this design is that it will futher differentiate MB and BMW buyers, and Audi buyers for that matter. For awhile they were all following each other... this design looks distinctly classic Mercedes, BMW looks sporty, and Audi is chic. Its that simple. And buyers know who they are.

this looks like MB didn't know what to do so they made this. Present MB design thinking is all wrong for MB. Not saying they don't need new look but this look just doesn't say MB.. I don't like it.
