well, that argument would make more sense if the Titan they included in the test hadn't come out new at the exact same time as the F-series. If you're going to have a truck comparison you have to include the F-series, and any comparison should include the best selling vehicle in the class.

The Civic sells better than the Corolla on an anual basis. However, the Corolla, in its 30+ year history (and badges on many different types of cars) has sold better.

this test made no sense, and this one the sites i was talking about that seems bias alot. the reason it makes no sense, and if you dont believe acually go to edmunds and read how the toyota won. the chevy was recommended most by the edmunds editors, "under therecommended score it was high above the other 2, which means they felt the chevy was the better truck. it always was head in the overall evalutation test, so twice in the ratings they said it was the better test, but in the end the chevy lost....lol...and that makes sense

Driving from Orange County to Las Vegas you will see an occasional Titan or Tundra, but once you get to Denver and drive on to St. Louis you will never see another one.

May this unworthy one suggest you actually tag the Y axis on the chart with an appropriate label? Otherwise one could assume its the number of people in the back seat.

Most people would look at the RPM chart and understand that they are talking the wheels dyno graph.

Looks like GM and Toyota have swapped places. GM now more refined but with less power and Toyota less refined but with more power. Congrats to Toyota, looks like they did their homework in the power department. Hopefully GM will introduce the 6.2L as an option across the board when the 6-speed transmission becomes available. If not, then hopefully the new 6-speed will allow the 6.0L to use all of its power.

The result doesnt come as a surprise to me. Once again I will point out that no one thought the dinky Camrys (Coronas) and Accords would amount to any serious competition back in the early 80's. Only a die hard F-150/Silverado guy (are there die-hard Ram guys?) would continue to keep his head in the sand. This Tundra is going to change everything.

There is more to this than just this test. I didn't see what gear ratio's were? And if you going to use a truck you want a bit more space between the cab and bed than a half inch. Hit the front wall of the bed to hard its going to dent. And if the cab is right there your going to dent it to or maybe even break the window.. plus how do these trucks do with a load in them? Plus t he Toyota is a pre production truck this could make the truck look good or bad. I will wait until I see one in person and read test of the production truck. But really for Toyota to be one upped in the interior by the Chevy just tells me Toyota didn't come to the table to play. The Fords Interior looks beter than the Toyotas.. and these days interiors sell

I dont think it will change everything. Its a better attemp at a full size but Toyota is still learning. This truck makes a good point at what they have learned, but its goign to be 4th place for now.The next truck they design will be better... besides what self respecting Union guy is going to buy one of these? the big 3 have one thing on there side. Most truck buyers are sticking with what they drive.

And I just had to add this quote for all of you Toyota bashers trying to portray them as less than green for offering this pick-up. I have been commenting for months that GM pushrods do not get the mileage they claim (as many complain about hybrids), and have pointed out that the new Tundra, tho having massive power, will have decent mpg. Now Edmunds proves it.

"The Titan averaged 13.7 mpg during its stay with us, with a best tank of 15.1 mpg. Despite its extra grunt and weight, the Tundra averaged 14.4 mpg, with a best tank of 16.9 mpg. EPA estimates are 13 mpg city, 18 mpg highway for the Titan and 14 mpg city, 18 mpg highway for the Tundra.

Since our Silverado is a long-term test truck, we have a larger sample size from which to cull fuel economy data. The picture is not pretty. Over 5,436 miles, the Chevy has averaged 12.7 mpg with a best tank of 14.2 mpg. Of the three trucks, the Silverado's performance is the furthest from its EPA rating of 15 mpg city, 19 mpg highway."

Yep, I agree with you, for once. The Chevy cheats the EPA test with Active fuel managment (displacement on demand along with the lack of power unless it's floored) kinda like the hybrids.

They've sold about nine, so far as I've heard. There was a milestone this year: they sold a whopping three cars instead of two (the last three years).

Impressive engine in the Toyota, I guess sales will come down to where peoples loyalties are.

Chevy has put out a very impressive truck and just what for the new diesels. They totally redesigned it and done a great job and at least they are trying to have a truck with great power and decent mileage. The new Tahoe’s are actually getting the mileage they say they do so why shouldn’t the new Silverado with the same engine do the same?
Toyota also has done there homework and put out an excellent truck. Both of these trucks are way ahead of any other full size truck maker. Some of you need to just quite reading so many reviews and get out and actually use some of these trucks before you start harping on them. And just so you know I have a 2003 ½ ton Silverado. I have hauled loads of rock, I put a 9ft big camper on it and pull a nice 19ft Bayliner and I am able to get 14MPG and cruise over the 6% grade mountain passes with no problem. I have never had any trouble with it at all. I get 16 city and 20 hwy when not hauling anything. Chevy makes a great truck and now they have made an even better truck and it looks like Toyotas will be just as good. Quite you’re whining and give them there props!

What makes Silverado a better TRUCK than Tundra? Its subjective "beautiful cloth" or its cheating power and EPA MPG? Look at the dyno plot, you want to buy a "367hp" truck but use it as 300hp one only?

Tundra just completely out-muscled it and got much better MPG too.
