Audi Head of Design Set to be Head of Entire VW Group
WOLFSBURG, Germany — Audi design boss Walter de'Silva is to be made head of design at parent company Volkswagen Group by the end of the week, company sources say.

An announcement to that effect is being prepared and will be made official within the next few days, high-ranking Volkswagen officials told Inside Line. The 55-year-old Italian will also retain responsibility for Audi design.

It seems as if Audi's top executives are all so talented that they're being hired as heads of the entire group!

Whoops, he's going to be head of VW DESIGN, not the entire group!

Dumb blooper...

But you should understand the gorgeous R8's design, as well as the fabulous RS4 bodykit, etc...

Of course you don't understand the Audi grill. For you Automotive history started in 1989 when Toyota slapped a Lexus badge on the LS400. Auto Union probably means nothing to you.

I am sure he will do a great job with VW like he has with Audi. Just hope he will still have time to work with Audi. I trust that Winterkorn will do a good job with the VW group and that his replacement will do a good job with Audi.

Not really, the only Audi and VW that are related are the A3 and Golf, plus the Q7 and Touareg (same with the Porsche Cayenne)

But as you know both the Golf and the A3 are better than the equivalent BMW product. See for yourself.

"Chewy" I'm sorry but many of us Bimmer fans don't care about the 1-series as it was really built for practicality over sporting.

Unlike the 130i, the Audi S3 & VW R32 both fall under their companies performance division giving them the sporting edge that they should have.

That said a 750i is better dynamically than an S8, as is a 330i better dynamically than an S4. I’m not one to downplay Audi by any means, but I’m one to dispute those who downplay BMW.

The 750i definetly is not dynamicly superior to the S8.

Yes, I have to disagree with you on the 7er. The A8 is superior in every way imagineable.

Just great!!! Now all of VAG's cars will look boring.

Yeah, because BMW's design is sooo exciting.

Have you seen the R8? The next batch of VW AG products are going to be by the same person.

The "boring" Audi products (pre-updated A4, last-gen A6, last-gen A8) were penned by a different person.

I'll admit that the R8 isn't boring but it weird looking. So the cars won't be just boring they'll look weird as well.

'Heyhuub' just ask me for the facts...ask me! I promise you'll be very dissapointed to see that 750i is in fact, dynamically superior to the S8.

I'd like to see you measure that.
