Audi Kills Shooting Brake Concept

Audi Kills Shooting Brake Concept
German site Autovisie reports today the Audi has killed a possible production version of the Shooting Brake Concept.

Production chief Ulrich Hackenberg indicated that the plan fell through because, the concept was based off of the current TT platform and would be too similar in production, and in demographic appeal.

Rather than split sales between the new TT and a potential Shooting Brake production model it was determined to scrap the concept.

That sucks if true.

I actually like the shooting brake better than the TT.

And it could've been the reincarnation of the last-gen BMW M Coupé, except better-looking!

why don't they just make it a TT trim level?

Could it be Audi killed it because it looks too much like the new Volvo hatchback?

It didn't make much sense in the first place.

This is really unfortunate. The Shooting Brake was a beautiful concept--it had the appeal of a TT, just more practical.

Definitely a mistake on the part of Audi!
