I am very brand-loyal to GM trucks don't fit into any of the demographics you mentioned. The ironic thing is that the very people you're trying to make fun of often have more class than you've displayed in your post.

This I can believe.
Although the Japanese offer very good sedans for their price (Altima, Accord, Camry), their SUV's and trucks are simply not as good as American rivals.
Japanese offerings tend to be smallish in size and also do not look like trucks at all, although the Tundra is starting to change that.
Americans make the best trucks/SUV's period..But their sedans are POS.

the reason toyota has so many loyal customers is because they make "good" cars. These cars are not fun to drive, these cars dont handle well, go fast, etc. Toyota's cars are reliable. That is what the average consumer wants. In addition to this, they design their cars well. I have owned a Lexus for over 15 years (1991 LS 400, 2000 RX 300, 2001 LS 430, 2005 IS250) and recently just bought a SLK350. What is annoying is whenever i want to turn off the radio, the navi screen goes off with the radio. When i try to change the radio from my steering wheel, i have to go though every station. The aux jack is inside the glove compartment and there is no opening for the wire to come out. In my Lexus IS, i am able to turn off the radio and the navi still functions, i change the radio from my steering wheel and only go through my presets, the aux jack is in the center concil and the arm rest even goes back a little so i can keep my ipod in the cup holder (so i can change the songs...) Its these little things that will cause me to go back to Lexus and pass up on a car that is more exciting to drive.

The SLK is soo much fun but dam, thats all it is. There is no convinence associated with that car. That is why my next car probably will be another Lexus.

So you're going back to Lexus because of a radio-navigation on/off convenience problem? That's a first.

As Fabian said, all you have to do is put the radio on mute.

Its simple why GM and Toyota have higher loyalty, here are a couple of the reasons:
(i.) They have larger portfolios of vehicles - size, style, price than competitors so even if people buy randomly so an existing customer is more likely to return to GM or Toyota.
(ii.) They have more new models than other brands, especially GM in trucks and Toyota in cars and SUVs which gives a current reason to buy the same brand again
(iii.) In the US Toyota (cars and SUVs) and GM (trucks) represent choices that one doesn't have to apologize for or explain to friends, colleagues and neighbors

Audirevolution, I have to disagree with you on that American make the best truck. Toyota make the best truck in the Worlds. Go to topgear and what they done to Toyota Tundra. They burn, drown, smash and everything could possibly think of to damage the truck but it still run.

But I do agree American make some of the truck in the world.

Wait- this is a clear case of bias. You don't have to say EVERYTHING with a Toyota badge is the best.

There are a few Audi models that I admit to being second fiddle to competitors, the A4 and A6. I know the 3 Series is better than the A4 and the E-Class is better than the A6. That doesn't, however, mean the A4 and A6 are bad cars. You don't have to pretend that Toyota trucks are the best- they aren't, but that doesn't mean they're the worst, either.

I don't know about GM, it looks like their owners are loyal because they have always bought GM. I know Toyota owners are loyal because Toyota's are reliable.

The current Tundra (not the new truck.. don't like it but haven't seen it in person) is a joke at best. Watch it cross rough ground and you will see its frame twist all over the place. Its under powered and if you tow with it the trans wont hold up.I do agree with the statement they make a good truck but I wont go as far to say the best. The Tocoma (spelling not sure of) is probably the best in clas.
