BMW looks to strong 2007 after record 2006

BMW said its revenues increased by 5 percent hitting a new record of $63.6 billion. The total number of BMW, MINI and Rolls-Royce brand vehicles delivered to customers increased by 3.5% to 1,373,970 units. “2006 has been the best financial year in the company’s history. We have reinforced our position as the world’s leading premium manufacturer by posting a new record sales volume figure”, stated Norbert Reithofer, Chairman of BMW AG’s Board of Management in Munich on Friday.

In the light of the positive performance, the group is maintaining its earnings target for the financial year 2006.

Considering the fact that we will see the X6 a year earlier than anticipated, and the X5, and X3 being fresh might help increase sales. Mini sales were also hurt by plant upgrades last year, so I see the Group meeting their financial objectives.

Yes, I realized, idiot.

Mini just doesn't sell well enough to make up for that.

However, Mercedes could've sold more of their models than BMW this year, if you don't include Maybach, Smart, Mini or Rolls-Royce.

You know, I like BMW. I'd like a 335xi coupe for my next winter car, and while I probably wouldn't buy it, I'd look at a 650ci to replace the S4.

But it's fu¢king idiots like you who make me hate the owners.

May I ask why?

They made German cars popular. They were created by Ferdinand Porsche. They are the only fun-to-drive mainstream cars out there, if you discount some hi-po (not very mainstream) cars from Mazda and Subaru. Their interiors are peerless for the price. Styling is subjective, and while I hate the Jetta, the Rabbit/GTI, Passat, Touareg and Eos are all very attractive. They created the fastest, most expensive, most thoroughly engineered car in the world. They brought Bentley back to greatness, and together with their Audi brand, took Lamborghini out of bankruptcy and into the limelight. They had one of the best-selling cars of all time, the Beetle. If it weren't for Volkswagen, Porsche wouldn't be around today. They sell millions of cars a year, and the Golf is the most popular car in Europe.

Have you had a bad experience with a VW or something?
