God Damn it looks so good in white!!!!!

The R8 will finally give Audi that "prestige" factor its always lacked. Audi never had a $100,000+ car in their range and by doing so, it will make owners of their less expensive offerings feel that much more special by knowing what lurks at the top of the range.

The R8 to me looks like it will completely change the way Audi is seen in America.

We've been looking at this car for quite some time now, but imagine when this monster is actually out on the streets. I cant wait.

Well, they did have the A8L W12 ($118.5K), but I see where you're coming from.

Awesome!

I couldn't decide which looked better, black or white.

But now I see that white is the way to go. Especially with the lava side blade.

Thanks for posting this S4!

Everyday that passes by proves how stupid some people are...... Tell me whats wrong with it being an Audi? Give me one reason cmon? If you will give me this crap about it being a rebadged VW, then guess what, samething with lexus (rebadged toyota here)!
I think you should spend more time practicing on grammer and spelling more than wasting your time on autospies and saying crap.

Wow, do you know how sick I am of hearing that?

I'll post again...

'00 A6 2.7T quattro (five-year lease): 80K miles, headlight washer cap came off

'98 A4 1.8T quattro (bought used for my son): 70-75K miles (I forget which), steering rack had to be re-aligned

'05 Audi S4 Cabriolet: 22K miles and going strong

'06 Audi A3 2.0T: 10K miles and counting

If they were that unreliable, why would I keep buying them? By the way, I had two Acuras before- so I'm used to reliability. If I was appalled at how horrible these cars were, the S4 wouldn't be in my garage right now!

Dont worry about him, usual lexus guys, when things get tight they bring reliablilty to the table. Audi's reliability is getting better from what I heard.
BTW , your clone is really horrible, he needs to be banned.

One person's or several peoples' anecdotal evidence does not compare to years and years of large sample sizes of empirical data. On AVERAGE, Japanese cars are far more reliable than German cars, this cannot be disputed. Let the negative boosts begin!

Audi getting better?

1. Mazda - 8.04%
2. Honda - 8.90%
3. Toyota - 15.78%
4. Mitsubishi - 17.04%
5. Kia - 17.39%...

27. Audi - 36.74%

I never sed the japanese are not reliable. Dont get me wrong. Japanese are ofcourse more reliable than the germans and the rest. But Im just tired of people mentioning reliability just like the car will blow up right after u start the engine!

I don't think Audi's are amazing, but this car is hopefully going to be fantastic.

Although it is a simple comment, I wholeheartedly agree.. The Audi brand is not amazing, it never was..The A8 is decent but nothing more...Its just that they have this ONE gem, possibly the best to come in recent times, that makes Audi for the FIRST time a car company that could truly challenge the great Mercedes and BMW...

S4cabriofoxoneS4cabriofoxone - 1/28/2007 5:52:13 PM

I would say they've had quite a few "gems" in their lineup, style-wise and performance-wise.

Audi's stylish trend-setters have included the last-generation A6 and original TT, both adopting Bauhaus principals and causing other makers to copy. Another HUGE style and aerodynamic leader was the old Audi 5000. It was the victim of the 60 Minutes report, and before then, Audi was equal to BMW (about 75,000 annually) in sales. It was the first of the "smooth" surfacing in modern cars.

In engineering, I would say that the A8 truly is a gem. If you think it's only "decent", drive one. You're wrong. The interior is beautiful, the exterior is timeless and it has class-leading handling. The RS4 is the best-performing Audi to date (besides the R8), and that was the first S/RS Audi to truly challenge M. I feel that, while not power-wise, RS surpassed AMG about a decade ago in overall sportiness.

Uhh...

Don't dis the big, bad Benz.

Sure, A4 is easily > C-Class, and I'd say A6 = E-Class.

But... S-Class? A8 used to be the best, but I'd much rather have the new S-Class.

themantheman - 1/29/2007 4:34:49 AM

There will never EVER be a car made by Audi that could beat the CLS, S, E, ML(only the 63) and CL...EVER..And that applies to BMW too...(I am not gonna compare every car but look at the E63 vs. M5 vs. A6, the clear winner is the Merc)..Mercedes is clearly superior to BMW and BMW is clearly superior to Audi..But the R8 is the best car out of all three companies, thats the point I am trying to convey..

Nice R8 pics. Notice how low it sits in comparison to the people standing next to it...it's below their chests.

I love the white paint job but I'm still not a fan of the two-tone body paneling...I’d opt. for a solid colour throughout as to not ruin the beasts beautiful lines.

If you want a solid color, I think black works the best. In white, it's easy to see that the sideblade is still there- and it looks like an odd patch that's there for no reason.

However, black w/ black sideblade, or even cooler, black w/ black carbon fiber, makes for a sweet R8.

theman

I dont really agree about mercedes being superior to BMW, especially when BMW has more sales than mercedes. The only merc cars that turly beat BMW are the S, CLS and maybe the CL. Other than that, BMWs 5 is better than the E, 3er better than the C ( dont know about the new one) 1er better than B or A ( dont know which of them is its true competitor) and X5 better than Ml as far as i know. Anyway both are great, its just your opinion that makes anyone choose from both.

I was lucky enough to see a convoy of some half dozen R8 Audis the other day near the Valley of Fire in Nevada. The R8 looks like a real supercar and should not be considered as a poor man's Porsche. Also spotted a white R8 on Las Vegas Blvd. yesterday evening (Feb 1) while cruising downtown LV. Audi should price this car above the Porsche.

It wouldn't be a "poor-man's Porsche" anyway... considering it's about $30K more.
