Report: Ford looks to Europe for new US Models

Gotta do what you gotta do (works for Hyundai). This is a good looking car.

The TL isn't sold in Europe, so this car is unique there.

please lord, help the U.S. car companies

If ford brings over these models with the diesel engines, I would buy a short wheelbase transit. All 3 models would sell like hotcakes if ford brings the diesels models over here.

I love the new Mondeo.

All I can say is, "FINALLY". They should've done this three years ago.

Don't get your hopes up. These cars cost a lot in Europe. For example a Focus can run 15k pounds about more than $29k. The Mondeo will cost more, around 17k pounds or so. So think who in America would want to pay $30k for a Focus and $34k for a Mondeo? Yes Ford will drop the price a bit, but they really can't bring it to competitor levels unless the lower the equipment list and quality (so in the end the looks are exactly what you'll be getting without all the gizmos). This is the problem with European American branded cars coming to America and also why the European versions are so much better they cost much more.

This, if it made it, would definitely sell well.

Ford Focus ST ( From British Point of view, the ST would stand for Sanitary Towel but the cars cool.
Ford S-MAX, maybe a minivan or people carrier as those british folks say, but it's cool.
Ford Transit, maybe a van, but it's probally must be better than the Econoline.

Great idea Mr. Mullay, now repeat after me, "I solemnly promise to not screw these up and mismarket them like the; Merkur, Capri, Coutour, Mystique, Pantera, and every other car Ford has tried to bring over in the last 40 years." This means; leave the sticks and diesels in them, do not soften the ride, and for God's sake leave the seat bolstering the way it is!!! If you do this you might just pull off the resurection we are all waiting for.
