Millions of vehicles could have malfunctioning electronic stability systems if drivers have customized their vehicles with add-on parts and accessories, a trade association says.

ur comment is plane silly. there re tons of wheels which r aftermarket is being sold as OEM. like BBS for VW / porsche / BMW . AMG used to be aftermarket for MB , and u r saying they r tacky ?

Wow, I'm guessing you have aftermarket wheels.

Firstly, a wheel that is made and sold as OEM is not aftermarket. If that same company sells different aftermarket wheels to the tire rack, that's great.

But yes, the majority of aftermarket wheels that people buy at places like discount tire/tire rack/pep boys are aftermarket crap. They are at best in style for a few months.

I enjoyed your comment about lobbyists trying to outlaw "non-dealer" parts. Although it ignores the facts of the article, your stupid conspiracy theory was fun to read.

I have 15" AMG on an old C class when it was OE sport package which MunichRob declares as 'tacky' already ...

answer, BBS builds wheels for a lot more cars than you'd think. Other wheel designers do the same.

Many car companies offer tacky production wheels, especially Mercedes...Probably why we see so many with aftermarket wheels.
