Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion to debut at Geneva

Volkswagen’s Polo BlueMotion is said to be cleaner than a Toyota Prius with its three cylinder 1.4 direct injection turbodiesel engine that gives it the ability to do 72.4 mpg. Now Volkswagen will be adding to their BlueMotion line with a Passat which is set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show. The new Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion is expected to emit 103g/km of CO2 and have a fuel consumption rating of 60.3 mpg.

The BlueMotion tag on Volkswagen models basically means that the diesel cars are a more greener version of their regular counterpart. Volkswagen will continue to add to their BlueMotion line in Europe.

To all the naysayers... I've always liked the Passat, as long as you get it upmarket. Very classy looks, inside and out.

What else is debuting at Geneva? The A5, right?

Oh and, THOSE ARE PRIUS-BEATING NUMBERS. With the new EPA ratings, the Prius's estimated mileage will plummet.

You are correct on both accounts. The A5 is definitely on for Geneva, the RS6 was rumoured but no official confirmation. VW will have a concept for sure.
