New Jaguar XF Spy Shots!

Jaguar has done a good job of masking their XF prototypes and these latest spy shots from BilNorge show they’ve gone to great lengths to disguise the cat. Jaguar added a phony notchback to hide the rear design, but you can see some Aston Martin style taillights, which we think look great. We hope the C-XF concept bonnet (hood) makes it to production, as there is a lot of character in its design. A new 5.0L Supercharged V8 should rocket the new XF to 60 in under 5 seconds, which would also make the XF as fast as an Aston!

I think this car is going to sell very well. I just wish they would address that Hyundai grill. It really doesn't mesh well with the rest of the design.

I'm liking what I see so far. It beats any design from the current Jaguar lineup. The rear lights may follow the cues from the XK which I think is an improvement. Maybe after this car the XJ and X-type will follow in result making Jaguar a contender so we can all have flame wars with Jaguar included! ha!

I hope the production version keeps a lot of the showcar's style, and if it is not so over the top, maybe Jaguar will offer an XF-R or C-XF or however they want to designate it. I think this will be Jaguar's make or break car honestly. A lot is riding on this model and I hope it does well and that it looks the part it is intended for, to take on the likes of BMW (whose style has been in a bit of a funk in my opinion) Mercedes and Lexus (both who play it safe in design all the time) with something fun to drive, hot to look at and handle like a dream. We will see....

The price has something Jaguar has always been good at- but oddly, only in its high-end models. The XJ8 starts at about $64,000, and there are very few options. I believe it tops out at $70K. The "L" version is still under $70,000, and the R is barely over $80K, if I'm correct.

Although the XK's base price seems high, the new XKR is only about $12,000 more, at $1K/10hp. Not bad!

Wow, that looks really good. Very true to the concept. I hope this points the way for future Jag designs- but keep the XK as it is for awhile, kay?

However, I'm confused. Is this the S-Type replacement? Or some sort of CLS competitor in addition to the S-Type?

The next XJ should look just like this, but longer...

I'm not sure but I think it's the new S-type...Jag really isn't in the financial posistion at the moment to start & build a whole new model line. Then again you never know, you never know.

Jaguar xf is developing into looking pretty similar to the c xf. only the front headlamps seem different and although the roofline probably has been raised a bit, jaguar seems to have made it to look very close to the body by making the side windows smaller and raising the highest point of the doors. Please notice carefully in the spypics, I think you will know what I am trying to convey.
