Yesterday on Wheels: 2007 Cadillac DTS

The 2007 Cadillac DTS is 17 feet long. Yet somehow it is so easy to overlook.

When was the last time you noticed one? The full-size 2007 DTS is also the Cadillac that's habitually marginalized by the automotive press as a holdover, old-school Caddy driven only by very old men who smell strongly of medicinal salves or livery-service drivers who smell strongly of Drakkar Noir.

Interestingly, they compared the DTS to the Lexus LS460.

They said that they were both pure luxury cars. Obviously, I'd rather have the LS460.

i dont know, i almost want Cadi to make more for these kind of cars. If they modernize them, i think they will give Lexus, Benz, BMW a run for their money. I really cant think of a car that offers a lot of space. I mean, i know the LS430 rear seats are not very spacious. I just think this Cadi is a real luxury car while the Lexus, Benz, BMW can be considered luxury sports cars. Personally, sitting in LA traffic, i would rather have a luxury car than a sports car that i will never be able to use

Lexus is certainly not a "sports car" (LS), and the new LS460 has bigger rear seats, especially in the "L" version.

The cabin design of this current DTS seems like an overly banal expanse of fake wood and downscale leather seating. I would expect a design of this nature to be produced by El34.

One thing is for sure. The look of Cadillac's interiors are much improved. Now i'm not talking of it's quality or materials used because that's a whole different ballgame. Compared to the Lexus LS, people who have been in a Lexus will most likely take the Lexus over the Cadillac. There are some who believe it's geeky to not take a Cadillac.

For example, the drummer I believe from BLINK 182 on MTV cribs a few years back said that he didn't want to 'get geeky and buy a mercedes' so he stuck went with a DTS. I suppose people sacrifice the quality just to be cool? LOL. In this case being COOL is being a FOOL.
