Audi Sweeps Auto Motor Und Sport Readers Poll
Audi has recorded a triple success in the “auto motor und sport” readers’ poll: readers of the popular car magazine voted the A3, A6 and Audi Q7 into first place in their respective classes, crowning them with “Best Cars” titles for 2007. This continues Audi’s history of success in one of the most important readers’ polls in the automotive industry.

This was the first time that the Audi Q7 has taken part in the poll, and despite fierce competition it was awarded the most votes. It represents a new standard in the SUV segment. The Audi brand’s first SUV stands out thanks to its outstanding on-road performance, good off-road characteristics, expressive design and the quality characteristic of Audi. And it is not just readers of auto motor und sport who hold these properties in high esteem; the Q7 has also enjoyed great success with customers.

The winner in the executive class, the Audi A6, has been the market leader in its segment in Germany for two years now. The elegant and sporty A6 is available as both a saloon and an Avant. In 2006, Audi added the sporty S6 and the A6 allroad quattro to this successful model line.

The Audi A3 was voted top of the compact class for the third time. Audi demonstrates with the A3 how it is possible to perfectly unite premium standards with compact dimensions in a smaller vehicle class. The A3 is available in three-door and Sportback versions, and also in the shape of the S3.

good question. I know they arent selling great here, but i got to tell you, there is a really nice white 4.2 Q7 parked in front of my office right now, and it is a good looking vehicle. In My Opinion

The Q7 is probably the sexiest big SUV on the road. They did such an amazing job of making it look small. I mean, seriously Will- did you expect a GX470 or Escalade to win?

it has a great diesel and looks great.
the gl to us is a monster, and the disco is just too off-roaderish.

The A3 2.0T DSG feels even quicker because it weighs less. Your friend paid too much; 2.0T is a better buy. He does get the S-Line kit, though.

I had the 2.7T also, but I didn't bother chipping it. Great car as it was.

My brother has an '01 S4, though (2.7T), and he used the same chip. 320-330hp on his. It's a monster.

why not show all the awards for all brands not just Audi, or it is a surprise when Audi wins something, there are a lot cars that win awards that do not get covered by autospies.

No, it's not really surprising, because Audi wins awards from pretty much every German publication there is. They obviously like their cars the best.

I bet the Audi execs are pretty sick of going to so many award ceremonies.

One of the reasons is that Audis are heavily discounted in some markets relative to BMW and Mercedes.

Here are a couple of other reasons:
1. Corporate fleet purchases (not rental fleets)are a big deal in Europe, especially in the United Kingdom where Audi is very strong. Audi, when combined with its sister VW, has a vast range of vehicles suitable for a fleet which appeals to corporate buyers who seek "one stop shopping"
2. Audi dealers are much less intimidating than MB and BMW in Europe

Give me ten reasons why the A3 is a bad car.

I mean, look at the last post on this page, by BMW995. He was a BMW fan, but drove the A3 2.0T DSG (what I have) and converted to Audi.

As for the S4, if you think that car is a "joke", then you're mentally challenged.

s4.. come on.. go price a 530 vs an a6 3.2. right now.. please come back to me with the difference. at least 5K optioned comparably. thats a difference worth the premium and shows the disparity. try the same on the 750Li and a8 4.2. L or SWB. same answer. in the world of premium products that is a huge difference

No, it's not a huge difference at all. I don't pinch pennies.

I was, in fact, going to buy an A8 for my wife. If she wanted a 750i, I would've gotten it for her. Would've been a lot over $80K out the door (BMW rips you off with the extras on that car), compared to $76K for the A8.

We were also looking at the 530xi, which would've been $61,000, as opposed to the E350 4Matic at $65K. It's really no difference to us. We weren't looking at the 7 Series explicitly, because of the absence of AWD. But if she really wanted it, I would've bought it for her. She had no interest. The car isn't that good.

A6 and 5 Series? We didn't look at the A6 because the 3.2 isn't as good as the 530i/xi, and she doesn't need the 4.2L.

You're in over your head if you think Audi drivers can't afford BMWs. I'm going to be buying an $80-100K car for my next, as if I couldn't have gotten that $67K M3 instead of my $63K S4.

Well congrats to audi! The Q7 is best in class ( Well the X5 was not competing ) The S3 is the best looker in its class. The A6 is quite a good combination of everything but does seem abit bloated. Anyway good job :D P.S Im a BMW fan till i die, butthe truth must be said.

I've never been a fan of Audi until very recently. My BMW 325i '01 automatic trans, which I love, will be probably be afflicted with a unrepairable transmission problem like most of the others of this general build year (the reverse goes out - the cost of repair: $5000). Not good! BMW will do nothing about it for those poor souls before me. So I test drove an A3 DSG 2.0T. This car is more fun to drive than any I have tested and phenomenal quality, fit and finish. I'm sure the Audi DSG will last longer than my BMW transmission. The sad thing is my BMW is in mint condition after 7 yrs but I'm forced to sell it to prevent me being hit with a $5000 bill.

I don't own an Audi but I do know people who really like their but I was currious since you've owned a BMW, Why choose Audi? Would you ever consider Cadillac? Is Cadillac even on the same playing field as Audi, Lexus, BMW ect.? I've been looking at the 2008 Cadillac CTS and it seems to be comparable but since this would be my first major car purchase I don't know.
