Audi’s A5 web site goes live
Audi has launched the website for the new Audi A5 Coupe which is scheduled to debut at the Geneva Motor Show on March 6th, 2007. The website has an official counter counting down to the world premiere of the Audi A5. The Audi A5 is based on the Nuvolari concept car that Audi showed at the 2003 Geneva auto show and is expected to be the size of the new A8. Jump over to the site http://microsites.audi.com/audia5/.

Oh dear, yet another manufacturer trying to use the same old message about "reinventing" the coupe. Remember Audi follows never leads!

Hey Audi, seriously cut the crap about "reinventing" - its just not credible, here are some alternative words you could use:
Revitalizing
Reinvigorating
Differentiating
Renewing
Improving
. . . etc., etc.

You know, you wouldn't have made such a big deal about the slogan, had it not been an Audi product.

What's the beef? You haven't answered yet. I doubt you've ever owned an Audi.

Does anyone know what they will price the A5 at? Between A4 and A6 presumably? More than TT?

Can't wait till March 6th. This should be very nice. I am sure we will get some sneak peeks on the micro site before the unveil.

Won't it take sales away from the TT? Priced similarly - just more spacious...

They say in the article that it's going to be the size of an A8? That's huge for a coupe in this class...More the size of a 6-series rather a 3-series.

It's going to be closer to the size of my car (about 180in). The article is wrong.

Where did you get A8 size? It will be about 185 inches, or 15 inches shorter than the A8. This is about 5 inches longer than the current A4 and about 8 inches shorter than the current A6.

Some of the test mule "spy shots" were wearing an A6 body; possibly because of this, some rumors suggested the A5 will be a CLS fighter. It will supposedly use their 4.2 V8, so a 6 series size would not be out of line. Perhaps the rear doors will unfold suicide style ala Mazda RX-8; which would blend into the body almost seamlessly when they're closed?... The Coupe Reinvented? Despite the clichéd slogan, I’m getting more and more curious.

I am sick of that slogan. I agree with MercBasher, but he didn't have to go on rambling about it.

It's going to be an E90-fighter (3 Series coupe). That's it. I know for a fact.

The 4.2L will be employed in the S5, and the RS5 will have either a force-fed six or a more powerful 4.2L (think 450hp-ish).

Did any one else notice what seems to me a non existant B pillar? If you look closely at the top of the top view there doesn't seem to be one.

Nice. I hope you’re right, that would make it eligible for my shopping list... and it does make sense that a 6 series sized coupe or A8 size would at least be called the A7. Actually, an A8 size coupe borders on lunacy.
