SCOOP: Thorough update on MG sports cars and SEDANS for North America
Things are progressing at Nanjing-MG, their MGTF is ready for production and rumors over at enthusiast website MG-Rover.org suggest they’re gearing up to relaunch an updated range of sedans too. ChinaCarTimes.com recently spotted the new MG7 sedan, which is expected to launch soon after the TF roadster. High-performance Z variants tuned by Lotus might also be in the works for buyers who require sportier driving characteristics.

MG in North America

MG cars will soon be on US roads according to Nanjing and MG officials, who back in July announced plans to open a factory in Admore, Oklahoma for US production of a new MGTF coupe. The NAS (North American Specification) TF coupe and roadster will hit US dealers in 2008, but this might not be the only MG for North America as future models could include the full range of MG sedans. Kim Custer, a spokesman for MG North America recently told us, “We are concentrating at the moment, here in Longbridge, on re-launching the TF Roadster, which we hope to roll out sometime early this summer for the U.K. market. At this point, we aren’t at liberty to reveal plans for any other vehicles in our future product range as we focus on the best way to prepare for entry into the North American market…..specifically, should we use updated versions of the existing ZR, ZS and ZT sedans or should we wait until next-generation............
