Just In: Canadian Auto Sales for January

Here is the complete list of Canadian auto sales results for the month of January 2007. The overall market was up 5.8% with a total of 40,750 units sold compared to 35,521 in January 2006.

Mitsubishi had a great month with a sales increase of 84.2%. Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Nissan, and Lexus each had sales increases of over 30%. The strangest news is that Ford sales were completely flat (11,585). You’d think one Ford dealership across the country could find one extra sale!!

There weren’t too many losers although SMART continues its sales free-fall.

Wow, the only luxury cars that sold over 1,000 units were BMW... and Acura.

Interesting.

The rest are pretty close together, but Jaguar sold a depressing 45 cars.

I had no idea the Canadian market was so small. Honda sold over twice 45,000 cars in the US this month.

DiamlerChrysler is only 0.7% higher then last year...Ford was strange for sure with the same amount of sales but hey at least they aren't down. Volvo is surprising also! Even Jag is up with only 45 units sold
