BMW Sales Up 2.1%: Mini Sales Drop 30.4% In January
The BMW Group in the U.S. (BMW and MINI brands combined) today reported January vehicle sales of 21,811, down 1.8 percent from the 22,218 vehicles sold in the same month of 2006.

BMW Brand Sales BMW brand sales were up 2.1 percent, to19,761 vehicles compared to 19,274 vehicles sold during January 2006.

MINI Brand Sales
MINI USA reported a 30.4 percent decrease in January sales, to 2,050 cars compared to 2,944 cars sold in the same period a year ago. The all-new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S hardtops will go on sale February 17th, and sales reflect the lower inventory associated with the model changeover.

Well, how is this surprising? It's like the Audi TT's decline. Although there are a lot more Minis than TTs, it's being replaced, and there isn't the stock of them that there was last January!

I know these sales figure things crack me up. Never a reflection of what is going on in a company. The new MINI is coming out, the old one is not being made so inventory is dwindling and plus, if I am in the market for a new MINI Cooper, why would I buy the old one when the new one is just about to be here? Stupid figures....
