Audi is having an eBay auction with the winner getting a chance to drive the R8 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and through the Valley of Fire on February 24. The following day the winner gets to attend Elton John Academy Awards Viewing Party at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.

The best part is that 100% of the winning bid goes to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Hmm. What appeals to me more is to buy an R8 for real, for twice the price, and all of the extra money I paid would go to the AIDS foundation.

I wouldn't give the AIDS fondation 2 cents.

They have a virus they can control.

In fact, I remember when the term AIDS first came out around 1980 and those that had AIDS were screaming and yelling that President Reagan doesn't care about us, he won't find a cure.

That was it, I said then I didn't give a damn about people that would pass a killer virus to one another because of their needs for drugs and sex.

I guess no need to donate any money to heart disease/diabetes and many other diseases because people are too fat and can't stop stuffing themselves. Oh wait, maybe the money can be used to "educate" people about dangers. Ever heard of prevention?

hmmm, or what about all smokers who get cancer...that is not preventable? Same for those that roast in the sun and get skin cancer. A horrible desease is a horrible desease..Aids, Cancer, etc.

Lambo "wannabe"? The Gallardo is AUDI-engineered, not the other way around.

If Audi set this car out to be a Lamborghini "wannabe", they would've made it flashier, harsher and more expensive.

The V10 version will be as fast, if not faster, than a Gallardo.

That's right and it's almost to get AIDS through a blood transfusion at a hospital.

So the only way to get it is by sharing needles when using drugs or sex.

It's preventable and I'm not donating money to AIDS, but I donate to cancer research.
