High performance diesel. A few years ago that wasn't a phrase you'd have heard bandied about much, but these engines are quietly usurping the pokiest of their petrol counterparts. And you'll struggle to find a more compelling example than BMW's 335d Coupe.

I want it.

A 335dxi coupe would be so perfect. But too good to be true, I guess...

Willy boy, ~90% of Lexus Europe sales come from the IS 220d.
That's "d" as in "diesel".

To really get more sales they need more diesels not more fanboys (do not comfuse that with fan) bashing diesels.

I would like to see a 335dxi sedan/coupe or any diesel in the 3 series offered in the United States.

we'll be seeing a lot more diesels here very soon. the main reason the germans have not been importing diesels to the US is that they don't meet 50-state emissions requirements (only 45).

however, there are numerous mercedes diesels coming to the states in 2008 as the new 'bluetec' diesels meet 50-state emissions requirements. very powerful and with gas mileage that puts current large hybrid cars to shame. (37mpg in the E-class bluetec for example).

check out mbusa.com

i'm sure BMW will follow suit.

Audi and VW are both employing Bluetec and bringing it to America soon... so you'll be seeing a lot more diesels.

This is beautiful. You're an idiot.

BMW is still IMPROVING in sales. Is it even worth telling you that they're #1 in the world?

S4...one1:

lexus sold less than 350,000 cars worldwide last year. BMW sold more than 1.2 million. why is that?

and you're really a schmuck for copying someone else's name and making these discussions harder to follow.

It's your friends. They de-boost anything positive about a German car or negative about a Japanese car.

Boosting is so childish. I want to pull my hair out.

001, what was the point of introducing that system? Turmoil?

Will is cracking me up with his sarcasm. You got to be an idiot if you don't realize that he's kidding. Whoops, just offended all the little kids here who are Lexus fanboys...
