German automaker BMW AG said Wednesday that sales inched up 0.5 percent in January.

Total sales for the month rose to 94,276 cars, compared with 93,835 in the same month last year, the company said in a statement.

Sales of the BMW brand increased by 3 percent to 80,629 cars compared with 78,265 vehicles last year. The company said it expects sales to be "more dynamic" over the course of the year as it introduces the new BMW 3 Series convertible and the revised BMW 5 and BMW 1 series models.

That's only 5000 more cars than AUDI. Think they might be concerned about the new models which will surely increase sales?

True. 75K vs. 80K.

It only makes for a 60,000 difference over the year, so if this continues...

However, it fluxuates. And it looks like Audi will have a stronger year than BMW- they're introducing much more important models. Revised 5 Series won't be a godsend for them, I imagine.

Who cares if Audi sells more cars? I like BMW and dont care if mercedes or audi makes more cars. I find Audi boring the same design in 3 sizes, mercedes and old mans car, and BMW sporty..

Okay. Nobody really cares about sales except the Lexus fans, to pat themselves on the back.

Although I like BMW overall and will probably get one for my next winter car, some of their models are less appealing to me than their Audi counterparts, and have the exact same (boring) interior in every model.

I like Mercedes, too, except the low-end versions. A, B, C-- I don't like them. The ML has also never stricken a chord with me.
