CHICAGO AUTO SHOW PHOTO GALLERY NOW LIVE!
While the rest of the automotive press was busy watching the 'moving backwards' presentation by Mark Fields of Ford at the Chicago Auto Show, Agent 001 was 'moving forward' shooting the first real life shots of the newly re-designed Toyota Highlander.

The new Highlander is one impressive re-do and we predict sales of this baby will rocket through the roof when it hits dealers this fall.

Photos in our 'best of breed' auto show gallery are going live as we speak so check back often to see the latest look at what's happening on the show floor.

much more interesting design for the Highlander I think. The previous job was just too plain...

the R8 was pretty cool when it showed up at the smallish Portland autoshow 2 weeks ago. I was suprised it was even there.

Is the "new" Highlander fully new, or just a styling job? I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach that it's on the same platform- but I could be wrong.

Is it on the RX350 platform?

It is on a "new" platform that debuted in 2002 with the previous Camry. The last Highlander and the last RX rode on the '90s platform. The current RX already rides on this platform. Therefore the Highlander has grown several inches, as the other vehicles did. I believe the Highlander is the last of this paltform to make the switch.

The Maserati Quattroporte and the Coupe are listed under Aston Martin.
