GM needs to get with the program. We've pretty well concluded that "hydrogen as car fuel" is a pipe dream. It all depends of the hope that one day we'll discover a way to harvest hydrogen from some abundant source, liquefy it, create a shipping infrastructure to deliver it to a massive, but as yet unbuilt distribution network, and be able to do it cost effectively and in a pollution-free manner.

It's am idea that is a *little* better than building a bullet train that is powered by moon rocks.

So, like BMW, GM will build a hydrogen fueled car, just because they can. And then they can put it on a shelf along with all the other useless stuff that people have invented, which is not mass produced because it is not viable.

hydrogen fuel cars CAN be built. but their economics and practicality are probably even less than the TURBINE cars chrysler once toyed with.
