Next Generation VW Golf to look like IROC Concept

Next Generation VW Golf to look like IROC Concept
We reported earlier this week that the Volkswagen Golf is facing a redesign delay due to burden from Japanese automakers who doing their best to take over Volkswagen’s top seller in Germany. Toyota is launching the new Toyota Auris in late February and Nissan wants to make its Qashqai have a better resale value than the Golf.

Well InfoMotori posted some sketches of what the next Volkswagen Golf may look like from Andrea Rosati, an Italian designer. From the pictures it seems the next generation Golf will take major design themes from the IROC Concept car. Check out the images.

Its not just Japanese competition causing the redesign delay, its also the change in leadership at VW. The new leaders want to feel like they will make an impact [regardless of additional cost and lost sales].

Wasn't it Adam Sandler who said the IROC Camaro was an "Italian Retard Out Cruising"?

Like the grille design on this VW!

The ASTRA was the best selling compact in Europe for 06, so Saturn is hoping this will repeat stateside. This is a tall order because traditionally, 3-5 door hatchbacks sells just above ok in the states. The ASTRA will pit sales directly against the Golf here. It will be interesting to see the outcome.

mobiustech, wrong article.

I really liked the IROC concept- and this would be a cool, very distinctive improvement.
