Aston Martin to boost sales with new models!
According to a report from Just-Auto.com, Aston Martin is gearing up for Bentley size sales volumes. Vanquish, DB9 and V8 Vantage sales are already healthy and the new DBS and V12 Rapide saloon due out next year will further boost sales and revenue for the company. It’ll be interesting to see if the separation of Aston Martin from PAG opens new doors to higher performance variants. For instance, the V8 vantage has a 4.3L Aston tuned Jaguar V8, but could this be boosted to provide even more power, and will Aston still have access to new Jaguar engines such as the long rumored 5.0L Supercharged V8 from Jaguar?

One thing is for sure; Aston’s separation from Jaguar is bound to create an intense rivalry between the two.....

Wouldn't they have to build cars that people can afford, first?

I want an AMV8 Spyder, but next to the 911, it's a pitifully bad deal.

LOL, it's kind of funny that exclusive automakers now aspire to "Bentley-size sales volumes."

I can see it now, a Vantage with 420+ hp to compete with the Jaguar XKR headon. Hopefully whom ever going to own the Aston Martin, will booast the hp for all the Aston Martin lineup.

Because there's a high possibility of Jaguar making a profit in the future. They are an appreciating asset for Ford.

On the other hand, AM is Ford's toy brand. They're not going to make a profit, but Ford will pour money into them until they're sold off.

Think of VW and Bugatti. Though, VW probably won't sell Bugatti off- as much as Porsche would like it, VW has enough money to sustain an ultra-super-unbelievable-brand.

Lexus,

Jeremy Clarkson did a comparison between the V8 Vantage and the XKR. The Vantage sounds louder, sounds faster, looks more sleek, but the XKR still keeps up with the Vantage. It's just the Aston's got more appeal. It's a tough decision but I think most would go for the Aston.

Yes... until you mention the price tag.

I'll take an XKR and a 335i coupe.

I still think the XKR looks much better than the Vantage in the flesh. Don't get me wrong, I love the Vantage design but next to the DB9 or XKR it looks like a wannabe. The front almost looks right with the XK and DB9 design theme. The roofline is great too but the rear lacks that special Ian Callum touch that the XK and DB9 have. Some complain about the XK's front bumper but it doesn't look any different from the shape of the DB9's bumper in person. In fact, if you are standing up all you will see is a long sloping hood that goes down to a nice grille and the bumper looks no different than any Aston's. The only way for the bumper to look odd is if you are looking at pictures that are taken from extremely low angles.
