Recall Friday: Honda Says Bring Back 45,000 Civics Please

Honda Motor Co. plans to recall 45,335 Civic Hybrid sedans worldwide to repair a voltage converter defect that could stop the car's engine, a company spokeswoman said Friday.

Japan's No. 2 automaker plans to recall 7,219 of the vehicles sold in Japan and another 38,116 sold overseas, mostly in the U.S., a Honda spokeswoman said. She spoke on condition of anonymity, citing company policy.

Honda learned about the defect -- which could cause a short circuit that would stop the engine and prevent it from restarting -- from overseas reports, the company said in documents filed Thursday with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Honda has received no reports of accidents, the documents said. The affected vehicles were manufactured between September 2005 and September 2006, they said.

If there's one thing me and S4Cabriofoxone can agree on, it's that Honda is one of the best built cars on the road. So they had a minor defect in one of their vehicles. Which car brand hasn't? At least it wasn't a safety issue like if you start the engine it might blow up. It's a minor problem on the list of things that could go wrong. And Hondas and Toyotas are "Jap" cars and I have never had one fall apart on me. My brother has a 1988 Honda Prelude. It doesn't burn a single drop of oil and the engine still runs in excellent condition (it's the originial engine, too). I think Honda's one of the only brands that can lay claim to something like that.

Honda, jealous? Those two word should never be used in the same sentence unless you were saying Honda isn't jealous. In reality, Honda has nothing to be jealous of Toyota. In fact, they're possibly better than Toyota.

Actually, and Im not joking here, My mate hade a problem in the suspension from his 2005 honda crv. Everytime he is on a U-turn the car makes horrifying noises. He went and repaired them, but he is gonna sell the car soon. I think hes planning on buying a nissan murano
