Ford reveals first pictures of new Mondeo

Ford has released the first images of the all-new Mondeo ahead of its world debut at the 2007 Geneva Motor Show. The dramatic all-new Mondeo is designed to raise customers' expectations for a car in this class through a combination of style, dynamics and technology. During its life, the Mondeo has appeared every year in the nation's top 10 favourite cars. A total of over four million Mondeo models have been built at the Genk plant since launch in 1993 with more than 1.5 million of those being sold in the UK.

"The exciting new Mondeo is very important to us", said Roelant de Waard, Ford of Britain's Chairman and Managing Director. "It's probably the most elegant car we've ever launched, and it's certainly the most technologically-advanced. Like the S-MAX, Car of the Year 2007, the new Mondeo will attract many new customers to our showrooms as well as delighting our loyal UK customer base," he said.

Whomever at Ford decides that this car shouldn't be sold in the USA is a jackass who needs to be removed.

But, since they work at Ford, they will keep their job and likely get a bonus for the year as well.

Well Alan Mulluly wants the Mondeo and the Max van. If they do import them it will be interesting to see how the sales figures stack up to the Fusion and now Taurus. If it out perfroms them both then that should send Ford a big message.

Ford management reminds of that commercial for Capital One where the Big Banker is looking down on the small business customer and says "what does he want"...a little after that while he is explaining what he wants he bursts into flames and the big banker laughs and sits down to a hearty lunch. Well that big banker is Ford management and the small business customer is potential Ford customers. With the exception of Alan Mulluly...they just don't get it!

P.S. I could also make the same analogy with Congress and the American people but I won't go there.

The interior in these shots seems a bit CHEAP but none the less this car will be a BIG HIT for FORD.

Who'da thunk it? Cool American cars are everywhere but America. This is miles away, literally and figuratively, from anything Ford has to offer in the US.

Note to Mr. Mullally, your answer to reviving Ford is not in Japan.

it is fusion sized, one above the focus or civic.
and prices? this will start in europe at about 14000-15000 pounds, or 26000-28000 american dollars (including tax of 17.5 percent VAT)

No, they would drop the Fusion. Listen to what Rupert said. Mondeo is just a better-driving, better-looking, better-built Fusion-like car.
