New Toyota Sports Car?

Toyota enthusiasts and car fans alike have felt the lack of a proper sports car in Toyota venerable line up. However, although this 2008 Toyota MR-2 is very unlikely to reach production (it looks like a GS convertible), it demostrates some intersting design themes that Toyota could use. Some of these would be the Nissan-esque T-shaped grille, and the clean body lines found on this illustration.

This is a very clean looking MR-2. Nice.

Toyota markets boring cars to the masses. That's what they seem to do well. The days of cool sports cars from Toyota are gone (no more Supra or turbo MR-2's)

It would be a much better SC replacement- just change the grille and fix the chopped-looking rear end. 6 Series competitor? Not quite, but better than the SC.

That is not going to be the MR-2, the reason is because a MR-2 needs to be mid-engined this most certainly looks like it will have a front engine (even if it does get off the photoshop file). There is no way they can fit an engine in front of the rear wheels with the seats being right there. Also the MR-2 never had a grille in the front and this looks too heavy.

But then again this is just a photoshop. Saw this a while ago.

God I hate all these Toyota sport car photoshops. There seems to be a new one every month.

Would they finally just one.
