Youve gotta think about like the IS 350 and the GS 450h and the all the new IS-F. Would your grand father choose one of these to drive. Im guessing not just because hes sooo old. Lexus is trying to tackle every age group at once, both male and female.

Yes, the GS450h is all about comfort. I could easily see a senior driving one. Just because it's fast doesn't mean it's a performance sedan. The S550 is fast, too, but a lot of older men and women drive it. However, both are suitable for most age groups.

It's more than likely the Same for the S-Class, The 7XX and the A8, and the DTS. Older people tend to drive the larger cushier cars.

Everybody I know who drives an S-Class is younger than 45!

People in their 30's and 40's get 7 Series BMW's. Lexus is for OLD FARTS!!!

As for the topic at hand, the Lexus LS has always seemed to solely focus on ride quality rather than on handling and this type of driving has usually appealed to elderly buyers. I think the new LS will change that repuation, but it won't happen overnight. From what I've seen and read, the LS460 has been improved in the handling department, but is still biased towards a traditional cushy ride.

Lexus just isn't considered a 'cool' car company. You don't see as many old people driving a 7-series like you do the LS or even S-Class for that matter.

Only untill recently has Lexus even attempted to make the move from boring & conservative too fun & out there. Need I say they should stick to the boring conservative approach.

Keep telling us though how many LS's you've seen sitting on 20's (probably been seeing the same few) because I've seen the stats that suggest something totally different.

Today on my way to school I saw a gold LS with limo tinted windows and very nice rims... it was like a 70 year old lady. My neighbor thats 72 also just bought a LS460.

Just because the average age is a 60 year old doesn't mean that younger people don't drive them. It means that some people don't make enough money to buy one until they're older.

both the 7-series and S-class are significantly more expensive than the LS...yet their buyers are younger. as mentioned above, average S buyer is 53, average 7-series buyer is upper 40s. the reality is that older people (like the 64 year old average LS buyer) tend to be more conservative with money as they move into retirement. they buy the LS because its a good value. your conclusions are illogical.
