SPY PHOTOS: Mercedes SLK Facelift

DaimlerChrysler’s little roadster SLK is about to get a facelift. The photos are showing a prototype during some testing on the roads of Stuttgart. It has still some disguise over the front and rear end, meaning that the car will get new head- and taillights, and a new front skirt with new air intakes.

The SLK is already an incredible design on a small body. But with the Audi TT coming to market maybe its time for a little refresh. BMW really needs to replace the ugly Z4 and soon.

I was toying with the idea of getting one for my wife, and myself, as a little "fun weekend car", but it is just too small. The SL on the other hand is perfect, but I want to see the facelifted model first before I make a move.

Why? It came out in 2005. This is probably purely to incorporate the 6.2L V8 into an SLK63 AMG.

MercBasher, you think it's "incredible"? Another questionable use of your name. I think the nose is hideous and the rear end is generic. The interior is a mess of buttons, and very un-Mercedes-like. Maybe you just like it that way.

I rather like the SLK. The F1 nose is a little much but its a nice little roadster that packs a heck of a punch. Its reliable and looks good to me. I have an 06 CLK 500 cabrio now because I needed a bigger car but the SLK 350 is a really nice drive.

Love the CLK. Would never own one, but if the wife ended up with one, I'd be very pleased. Too bad we live in Chicago... there's a blizzard right now. Almost a white-out.

Well, MAYBE I'd look at the CLK63...

S4, there will always be a better version for the same price if you just wait. Sometimes you just have to jump in or you'll never buy anything!
