Volkswagen replacing the Fox in Europe

Volkswagen is working on developing developing a new entry-level model to replace the Brazilian-made Fox in western Europe. Automotive News is reporting that the Volkswagen Fox has been costing the company $1,300-plus per car in exchange-rate losses.

Volkswagen started exporting the Fox minicar to Europe in 2005 in order to replace the Lupo, but the exchange rate of Brazil’s currency against the Euro has also made the Fox a money loser.

Hey Volkswagen, why not bring the Fox to the US and have it compete against the Honda Fit and Toyota Yaris?

The Polo is a much better car than the Fox, although more expensive.

The Fox is pretty basic for a VW, and nowhere near as 'cool' as the Lupo was.

the fox is way smaller than a yaris, it's small by european standards.
and it has no charm at all, unlike the brilliant lupo.

It's kind of embarrasing that the VW Brand which touts itself as "the peoples car", cannot even provide the most basic transport in currently the worlds largest car market. You have to go to the Koreans for that. Note to VW's Dr. W. Why do I have to go to a Korean manufacturer for an affordable entry level car?
